seer: gemini season love letters
gemini ~ the psychopomp of options; king of wands and the tower
hello lovers,
welcome to gemini season, we love, we are loved, and we are - love, there is so(ul) much peace from the act of loving. if you are a gemini sun, happy birthday and solar return to you ~ check out the limited birthday promotion i offer through June!
the sun's entrance into gemini is accompanied by: aquarius moon (trine) and saturn (loose trine), applying to a mercury rx cazimi, aries jupiter (trine) and venus (loose trine), and pisces mars (loose square). the outer planets: capricorn pluto and taurus uranus is in aversion to the gemini sun ~ similar to the lunar nodes ~ while the sun is squaring pisces neptune (loose). i am not delineating the ingress specifically, for now i am more interested to communicate about gemini magick. however, the general astrological vibe is airy and fiery: it feels like gemini season will create more spaciousness to breathe (air) and be inspired (fire) ~ lez goh!
*remember that harry potter scene inside the vault when all the treasures multiplied?*
gemini is the “first” astrological sign that represents the multiplicity of the universe, later carried through the embodiment of both categories: air signs and mutable signs.
recently, gemini as mutable air made me think a lot about death - more specifically, the last breath we take before we have to change from embodiment (taurus) towards the curiosity of something or someone else (gemini) - and eventually another container (cancer). after all, if we believe the inception of the universe (thema mundi) has a cancer ascendant sign, ergo placing gemini as the 12th haus of reckoning: the death idea bodes well with the tenet of gemini as the “chaos,” the chaos before birth (cancer). before there was anything, there was only chaos - and gemini knows those “chaos” intimately - there is always a “void” waiting to be “filled” through curiosity for any gemini placements. i put those words in quotation marks because geminis are not fixed to any types of definition - i might change my mind a few paragraphs in, easily.
gemini is ruled by mercury - the most chaotic goddex of all, sharing rulership with virgo: if gemini is the chaos, virgo is the filtration of chaos into order. i love mercury - most planets in my chart are in the bounds of mercury. mercury is a non-binary planet - mercury is an interesting and rather odd traditional planet because, compared to others, no sign/planet exalts them except for themselves, in virgo. in a way, it reflects mercury trusts and expects nobody excepts for themselves to celebrate their fullest transference of wisdom, i view exaltation as a form of celebration. this is why a virgo is always “right” - or at least they are never “wrong” - allegedly. this is why sometimes you find your gemini friend being stereotypical “nosy” because they do view the process of connecting with information as integral to their wisdom collection. it also resonates well with the idea of gemini as the collector and of death, because the angel of death knows everything about the souls they are about to “collect” - for without knowing something you could never end or begin again. this is why mutable magick (gemini, virgo, sagittarius, pisces) has a lot to do with closure and adaptation.
gemini magick is the change that becomes of us after we know - how many times have closure came into your life once different information reveal themselves? how many times have you adapted from the knowing? that process is partly geminian. in islamic myth or angelology, izra’il is the angel of death (similar to judaism) - and they would only collect souls once a leaf from the divine tree drops - revealing the name of the soul embodiment. there is something intimately “taurus-gemini-cancer” about this process of the “tree-named leaf-soul collection” : azrael facilitating death is also the role of a psychopomp archetype, a common archetype that exist throughout history and mythology.
gemini is also the only mutable of all the air signs (libra and aquarius). if libra represents opposition and recalibration of the perceived other, and aquarius is the higher perspective of coexistence we have of collective other, gemini is the OPTIONS we have to choose from - knowing of other. i know gemini is about options because a lot of my client work revolves around providing my collaborators multiple options - i have a gemini moon and south node in the 7th haus. my clients are usually those who are undergoing some sort of “chaos” - and before we go any further - I am very neutral with the term - chaos is neither good or bad, it is what we make of it. With the moon there, some client cry with me, some clients laugh with me, some clients smile, some clients choose to be invisible - some clients go through all the range of possibilities ~ that’s also gemini magick: the ability to embrace the range of things without being attached to it. the magick of levity and lightness in options ~ the magick of differentiation. a gemini could say something and immediately change the tone of dialogue or differentiate the direction of discussion - they chime in chaos, sometimes like a soft breeze - we feel embraced, and sometimes like a quick-passing tornado - we feel threatened. it is necessarily not gemini’s role to decide how to move forward - we delegate that magick to cancer (cardinal water sign following gemini in the zodiac) or libra (cardinal air - leader of the air signs).
gemini’s role is always to provide different options. hence, this gemini season, we want you to know that you always have options! and if you feel you do not have any, create them through communication and differentiation. sometimes the “curse” of the psychopomps, being the intermediary deity, feel that we are not powerful as we are following the instructions (virgo) or rather paralyzed by the overwhelming flow of information (gemini). yet knowledge is power, and the psychopomps have the most privilege of knowing.

for gemini season, we are pulling two tarot cards, represented by the archetypal twin, for contemplation to summarize and support our zodiacal month. using the ostara tarot, the first card is what is here and the next card is what is the other, we are integrating or awakening.
what is here: king of wands
culmination of power, this season is the time to pursue you desires unapologetically. perhaps there is a focus towards creation. the king represents mastery as much as it represents anticipation that their mastery would reward them in due time. if you have felt energetically stagnant or drained during the eclipse season, this is the time to show up and show out. there is something burning internally: alluding to the fire transit (jupiter + venus currently) and the air is feeding the fire into louder enlightenment. something about this gemini season could also be tied up with the unraveling of truth later in leo season (late July - late August). i love that the king of wands appear very calm and soothing, in fact their eyes are closed - alluding to the idea that sometimes we have to make choices based on our sacred flames rather than logical thinking. the king has absolute trust that their fire will pave the way for the future. i tweeted today that: “when you feel powerful, you are no longer hungry for more power. feeling soul-powerful regardless of internal and external metrics or circumstances is *chef kiss*" ~ this is the call to embrace your king of wands.
what is the other: the tower
a lot of us are afraid of change, even the most mutable person astrologically could fear change. the tower in the tarot corresponds to mars, and mars will enter his diurnal domicile aries through most of gemini season. mars is a lethal planet - like the tower - it does represent destruction. destruction exists because the universe wants us to pave the way for our most authentic action, mars (ruler of aries and scorpio) is the energy of absolute IDGAF. i recently wrote a liner on mars in aries magick as “having passion and desire is fucking nothing without direct action.” white birds are flying in the sky, fleeing the burning area of the tower - where there is destruction, there is also a coexistence of freedom. thus, do not be afraid to change the way of being and doing this gemini season, because if we truly desire a different option for our lives, we need to make space for things differently. sometimes the tower is due to our own initiation, but sometimes the tower moment also comes when the universe aids us to “destroy” something no longer purposeful for our souls. do not be afraid to fundamentally change. if you are already embodying the calm fire of the king of wands, you have the capacity to feel more secure with your fire burning with the winds of change.
