Tarot Poet #1 The World (21) & The Moon (18)
The Moon could end The World, and The World ended herself
Hello Lovers,
I recently participated in Óscar Moisés Díaz Stephen Jonas Tarot Diary Workshop on Saturday, and I left the space in deep awe. I told Moisés I felt “at home” with everyone in this workshop - the exalted Moon in Taurus transit + spaceholder magick! To be honest, I have never considered myself a “poet” until I found astrology, tarot, and spirituality years ago - though deep down, I’ve always known I am one? Very supportive of having Mercury in Pisces in the deepest 4th House - activated by spiritual pursuits!
Astrology-wise, exalted Venus in Pisces was/is touching my natal IC (Imum Coeli). I love adopting Pallas K. Augustine's language and scholarship on the IC as the “deepest heaven.” It feels magical that I am also at the deepest heaven time of packing and moving from my 25 months home in Harlem to another heavenly neighborhood.
It felt timely that The World card showed up for me during this transitory and moving time of The Moon: I am still unsure about my career direction though I know they are on their way soon!
The workshop has inspired me to write more tarot poems on my substack, ergo the title! Here’s a poem I wrote during the workshop based on Moisés’ suggested prompts:
“There is a great truth to be obtained from these two corresponding cards,” Stephen Jonas thinks out loud on the page. Draw two tarot cards from your deck and have them have a conversation in the form of a poem. I intentionally separated my decks into major arcana only for this ~
The World (21) & The Moon (18)
The love of completion and the love of messiness,
The trauma of living, in a blissful body undying,
The Moon - disturbed - because people are always asking from her, dreaming, manifesting,
Our bodies are made to labor stories, and The Moon, an experienced storyteller,
What is life if I am made only to be in service to others,
to The World, but never myself,
The Moon is dangerous because there is an element of surprise,
The Moon excavates insecurity from the deepest ocean - Mariana, star of the sea trenches,
Salty or bitter our in-sea-curity may be,
Imagine, fear confronted, sub-conscious projected on watery reflections,
The World has to be renewed,
And The World is made safe because of The Moon’s confusing revelation,
The World seems fixed, yet The Moon changes them,
The World becomes dangerous if The Moon stays fixed,
That is the only way The Moon could end The World,
and The World ended herself.
Breathe - there are ageless stories to live between 21 and 18.
Your Love Devotee,
Shahir
This could absolutely make me cry :) so personally relevant
Love this idea of having two tarot cards converse through poetry. Thank you for sharing it. The Moon is near and dear to my heart. (Aries Moon in 8th House.)
